Scott County Emergency Management provides a comprehensive management program to mitigate against, plan for, respond to, and recover from all hazards which may impact the lives and property within Scott County. The mission also includes the training and education of Scott County residents, responders, and governing officials to minimize the impacts on the people, property, and communities of the county.

Scott County Fire Department serves all of Scott City and Scott County. They are equipped to handle any emergency. The Scott County Rescue Unit responds to all vehicle and equipment accidents. Scott County Airport allows us to offer Life-Watch services for the severely ill or injured. The Sheriff's Department has recently enhanced its 911 services to include location of emergency calls by GIS mapping. 911 Emergency service, along with fire and police protection, is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
